This meeting was organized because they wanted to achieve unity and get rid of the Intolerable Acts. The men involved in this meeting wrote a Declaration of Rights and agreed to meet again in 6 months if it had not been resolved. -

Cotton Gin
This machine quickly and easily separates the cotton fibers from the seedpods and the sometimes sticky seeds. It was invented by Eli Whitney. Though it was a revolutionary invention, the cotton gin caused the necessity for slave labor to significantly increase, which caused the slaves to receive horrific treatment from their masters.
