This law created a quota on how many immigrants of each country could come into the United States. Making it only 3% of the countries current population of that nationality. -

The Johnson-Reed Act The Johnson-Reed Act lowered the quota for European countries from 3% to 2%. The Johnson-Reed act also continued the exclusion of immigration from Asia, but also barred the immigration of wives of immigrants in the United States. -
