This is what gained the Americans freedom. Thomas Jefferson picked a group of men to help him with the Declaration of Independence.They picked Thomas Jefferson to write it because he was good at writing and he was from Virginia and they would need there help. -

The Louisiana Purchase was when Thomas Jefferson made a deal with France and purchased it for $15 million. He had to purchase so they wouldn't go into a war with France. When he bought it that money went to Napoleon to fight a war that he was already fighting. In Haiti. -
The Lewis and Clark Journey West
Lewis and Clark were hired by Thomas Jefferson to go into Louisiana territory and make new maps and discover new plants and animals. It took them a year to travel all across the Missouri River. Until they finally got to the Golf of Mexico. -
The Texas War for Independence
After the Lewis and Clark Journey more colonists moved west. The reason they fought was it was either Independence or Mexican Constitution. So they fought for Independence and they got it. -
Attack on Fort Sumter
The Attack on Fort Sumter was the first shots of the beginning of the Cival War. The Confederate troops had the first shots. The Confederates surrounded the ring of the Harbor and fired. Then 34 hours later the union surrendered. -
Little Round Top
General Lee the General of the Confederates wanted to take Little Round Top so he could overcome the Union on their back side. But the 20th Maine led by Joshua Chamberlain guarded that side and held off every attack that the Confederates tried to take Little Round Top. And if the Confederates wouldn't have held that then something bad would happen. -
D-day invasion at Normandy, France
D-Day was a very hard fighting battle. If they one this it would liberate Europe and have Hitler surrender. The Germans knew they were coming so they planted the beach with mines barbed wire and they had bunkers so they could shoot out of them. The Americans had success and it was the largest sea-to-land invasion ever attempted. -

This was the day that Adolf Hitler died. His last fight was the battle of Stalingrad. This was the turning point of the war because the soviets beat the Germans. And Hitler had to surrender to save his troops. -
The Supreme Court Case. Brown v. Board of Education
This was the case that helped Black people go to White schools. It happened because a girl had to travel across her town to go to a black school instead of a white school. Five school's had segregation problems Delaware, Kansas, South Carolina, Virginia, and Washington. -
