    War Artist

These artists create heroic art pieces that reflect world war one. They put themselves in the soldiers shoes to connect how it would really be like to be there at that time. The artist were trying to show a way to say thank you for all the soldiers have done for us. (-2 decline)

    Gender

Women, men, and children were all treated differently. Women would have lower standards then men, they were only aloud to do certain jobs, they had to cook, clean, but were payed bare minimum or in some cases left. (+2 incline)

    Mae Belle Sampson

Women in 1918 were being discrimated. They were only aloud to work as a nurse in the war they were not aloud to be any type of soldier. They had to work in very unsafe, dangerous, over crowded, stressful, harsh environments. I think this must have been a hard job. These women would sacrifice their lives to help the helplessness. Jeremiah Jones

All of the black soldiers were descriminated. They were seperated from the white soldiers and not cared about. They had the most risky and unsafe job. They got chosen to do this because they were black and had "no worth." Everyone should be treated the same no matter if you are black or white. (+1 incline)

    Leo Le Boutillier, Thomas-Louis Trembly

British soldiers could not understand commands or orders because they spoke in english. This is like discrimination. They felt very alienated only until a british soldier joined who could understand and speak both languages,. The men then felt comfortable and were in a normal setting. Now they were able to do a better job protecting our country. (+2 incline)

Francis Pegahmagabow and First Nations soldiers

One of the 4000 aboriginals who served in the war. More than half of the men died from a toxic gas and others died due to other causes. He watched his friends die in front of him but pushed anyways, he fought hard and was one of the few who survived. He showed a great act of bravery and showed he would risk his life for his country. Lt. Col. Borden's letter

In his letter he influenced young children to get others to enlist and help fight in the war. Borden made it to make it seem like they would be heroes if they did this. He is making the kids mistaken being heroic and brave when it really is violence. (+1 incline)

    Billy Bishop

War pilots were heroic men. Billy killed off many German air forces during world war one. I think he is brave because he risked his life to do a great thing. It was amazing how he put his life on the line to help others. (-1 decline)
