Diets
The King created 4 assemblies called diets just for some lands. Nevertheless only men with a certain amount of wealth could vote for the representatives of the diets and they functioned only as an advice to the King they didn't have any "real" power. -

In between 1837 and 1841 local self-goverment was created. Democracy was trying to be implemented into the system. -
The King is crowned
King Frederick is crowned in 1848 (monarchy) Later after King Frederick was crowed he decided to change Denmark into a constitucional monarchy. Now the parlament had the say. People has now a voice in the goverment. -
New constitucion leading to democracy
A new constitucion emerged in 1866 the new constitucion divided the political powers into 2 assemblies: the Folketing and Landsting. Which granted the right to vote to all adult males , he also granted freedom to the press, religion and association making the King the head of the executive branch. This happened at the end of the century but it was the birth of democracy. -
