    Spread of Baptism and methodist

    In the early 1800's thousands of Georgians both black and white came together and many were Baptist or Methodist which later increased.

    head Right System

    In 1777 to 1803 Georgia gave away lands from the natives and allowed people to buy land, but there was too many people and not enough land.
  • Cherokee

    Cherokee struggled to maintain their way of life so they agreed to the 1783 Treaty of Augusta and gave up land and many just migrated north of Georgia. Thousands of people were forced to leave behind their homes, livestock, and crops.
  • Yazoo Land Fraud

    Georgia lost it's western territory by the Yazoo land fraud when the legislative got bribed and the citizens did not like it. "In a sense, the Yazoo land fraud helped lead to the Cherokee Trail of Tears in 1838."
  • Establishment of UGA

    In 1785, UGA was charted and in 1804 their first graduating class came but UGA was fighting against UNC for who established first. UGA later on "had more Rhodes' recipients than any state university in America.

    Land Lotteries

    1805 to 1833 Ga gave away land by land lotteries but the problem was that people don't get to pick what part of land they wanted.

    Creation of Cottongin

    the cotton gin was created in the 1820 and 1860's which made it easier to clean cotton but made it to where more slaves were needed. The creation of the cotton gin started an "innovation in ginning began to focus more on the quantity and speed..."
  • Treaty of Indian Springs

    In 1852, McIntosh gave up the rest of the Creek's land for $200,000 but paid the price by death! The creek Indians never got their land back afterwards.
  • creation of railroads

    Railroads were created because Georgians needed a better way to transport cotton to Augusta due to poor road conditions. Completed in 1851, railroads were completed and connected with Chattanooga, Tennessee and accomplished the goal of building the railroads for cotton transportation.
