    1765- The act was the stamp act and King George III became unpopular for a popular tax levied. A consistent battle cry for American politicians was “No taxation without representation”. There was new act titled The Coercive Acts and The Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia in the summer to discuss plans of the government.

    1771- The battle of Alamance which was a pre- American Revolutionary War battle between local militia and a group of rebels called The regulators and occurred in North Carolina.

    1774- The British Parliament passed a bunch of laws known as the Intolerable Acts for the purpose of closing the ports and naming it under the martial law. The colonial protestors were not happy and in response issued a a call for boycotting.

    1776- On July 4, the second Continental Congress adopts the Declaration of Independence and was drafted by Thomas Jefferson and established the United States as an independent nation.

    1777-The colonist deafest Burgoyne's British troops and thus date was the Turing point in the war. France, Netherlands, and Spain seeing this enter the war on America’s side.

    1781- The Americans and French trap General Cornwallis army at Virginia and this is good because it gives them an advantage over the war.

    1783- This was when the American Revolution has and so they could stop fighting. Benjamin Franklin was named chief negotiator and territories that were much longer then 13 colonies were acquired.

    1787- The constitution of the United States established the national government and certain rights for its citizens. The signing was on September 17, 1787 by the delegates.
