Cardinal Principles
This document created a change in the high school curriculum to better serve children in learning life skills and work ethic. For those students that did not plan on attending college, this new curriculum would guide students to learn skills for future career sections and also focus on what the students plans were after high school. This gave students more of a choice of what to focus this studies on and what was important to each individual student after high school. -
Brown vs. Board of Education
This ruling stated that separation was not equal. Even though man resisted, legally African Americans were finally allowed the same opportunities in education and make education equal to all. This was a big step toward the equality for African Americans. This is also important because it started equality for all education and everyone. -
Children with Disabilities
This law requires that children with disabilities are given the same education opportunities as those without them. This is an important aspect of education in supporting those children with needs and how to help them progress developmental. All children deserve a chance to grow and learn including thoese children with disabilities. This also gives children developing normally an opportunity to help and support those children with disabilities. -
No Child Left Behind Act
This act increased federal funding for education and ushers the standard-based reform. Some would say it has increased the school's accountability while others say that it made testing the focus of education while risking the individuality. I feel this is important because it set the standards and goals that we still use today to make sure that children are learning the things that they should be. These goals are still used today. -
Internet in Schools
Almost 100 percent of public school were connected to the internet in 2003. By the public school having internet it brought use a whole new world that would allow use to have education online. It would allow students to have access to new things that would help students get more knowledge about the things going on around them.
