Joseph Bell (just year)
He was the birth of forensic science (real sherlock holmes)1888 London he worked w/ jack the ripper case, said he examined murder/crime scenes to connect the ripper to them. His vast knowledge allowed him to connect people to occupations and lifestyles quickly and his use of scientific observation to solve crimes.

Edmond Locard (just year)
In 1912 his creation was officially recognized as the first forensic facility. Locard made vast advancements to the development of the examination of finger prints while also developing the theory that any objects that make contact, they will leave a trace of each other on one another.

sara bisel (only year)
anthropologist and archaeologist who researched at Herculaneum. Her chemical and physical analysis of bones allowed her to create perceptions of the people of the ancient town such as their nutrition. 1977 awarded smithsonian fellowship where she did much of her research where she was funded by organizations.

Michael Baden (only year)

Alec Jeffereys (year only)
In 1977 Jeffereys began molecular biology investigation of human genetics. His work found the first RFLP which target short DNA parts. 1978 he discovered the fist SNP, this didn't contribute enough so he dug deeper into the DNA sequence. He then found a myoglobin minisatellite that led him to find various minisatellite that helped him created an X-ray blot in 1984, leading to the first DNA fingerprint.

Henry Lee (only year)
Joined university of New New haven to create forensic science program. Durning his work he looked at 8,000 cases in 46 countries. 1986 worked on the OJ Simpson case. victim Helle craft was murdered, her husband Robert later convicted of the crime after lees investigation.

Bill Bass (year only)
1987 developed forensic anthropology center, is now a major institution for forensic anthropology research/training. consists of a body donor program for the workers to research human decomposition and human variation (pathology and trauma)

William Maples (only year)
1907's began working with florida medical examiners to bring his knowledge of identifying age, race, sex, stature, cause of death. Began working in US army central identification lab to look at military people missing and killed in WW2, korean, vietnam. AFTER 1,200 case in 1992 identified the last russian monarch Czar Nicholas II.

Jan C. Garavaglia
first examination project was on the morning glory funeral home scandal, 37 bodies found were in the home ( several caskets exhumed and determined they place many bodies in 1 casket and took money). 2008 examined remains and has confirmed that they had found B Anthony's body.

Clea Koff (year only)
forensic anthropologist,1996 member of 1st international forensic teams to Rwanda (examined bodies for evidence of war crime). In 2000 she went to Bosnia, Croatia, Kosovo where she was deputy Chief anthropologist of UN International criminal tribune morgue. 2012 founded Missing person identification center for forensic profiles of unidentified bodies.
