    Homer Plessy refused to sit in the blacks only car because he thought it inferior. He was denied. The Supreme Court unfortunately ruled that it did not go against his 14th Amendment rights and allowed segregation.

    Brown vs. the Board of Education
    Oliver Brown filed a lawsuit against the board of education after his colored daughter was refused entry into a nicer white only school. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of Brown because of the 14th Amendment. This meant students had access to a fair education despite their race.

    This act was brought up by President Johnson during his fight on socio-economic injustice. This act is to help ensure students are all receiving a fair and good education. This act helps fund different programs.
