    Opening of the perkins institution of the blind
    Perkins School of the Blind opened in 1830. Since then it has immensely taken off and the impacts have spread all over. It serves 100 countries. It is a great resource and institution for those who are visually impaired.

    This Law was established in 1840 in Rhode Island. The purpose of the law was to provide mandated compulsory education for all children.   • Plessy vs ferguson

    Plessy vs ferguson
    This Plessy vs. Ferguson act was passed in 1896. This law was more centered to african americans and whites. However goes hand in hand with historical events of special education. The segregation and the poor children of color at the time of this were treated unfairly in the school system. The pass of this changed a lot for the school system.

    Council for exceptional children
    The was created in 1922. This was an organization that was dedicated to creating success amongst children in education. Since then they have obtained awards and expanded to all over.
