  • Australia declares war on Germany

    Once Great Britain declared war on Germany on the 3rd September 1939, Australia sent over A voulenteer force named The Second Australian Imperial Force (AIF) to help out the British. It was at this time that they declared war on Germany.
  • Battle of Britian

    The Battle of Britian was an air Campiagn between the British and the Germans. It last 3 months and 3 weeks going from 10 July - 31 October.
  • Battle of Bardia

    The Battle of Bardia was between the Italians and the Australians. The result of this battle was a win for the Allied forces and allowed them to go on further and capture Libya before the Germans.
  • Australia declares War on Japan

    11:15am on the 9th of December 1941, approximatly 1 hour after the Japanese bombed Pearl harbour, John Curtin declared War on Japan.
  • Fall of Singapore

    The Fall of singapore was from the 8-15 Feburary 1942. This was a battle created by the Japanese when they icading Singapore. Once the Japanese took contorl of Singapore all the allied forces in Singapore at the time became prisoners of war.
  • Japanese bomb Darwin

    on the 19th of Feburary Japanese fighters attacked the port and Shipping of Darwin. They attacked them twice in the one day killing about 252 People in total.
  • Japanese Attack Sydney

    On may the 31st and the 1st of June, Submarines belonging to the Japanese Navy Made a string of attacks on he Cities of Sydney and Newcastle. A total of 21 people were killed and a further 10 wounded.
  • Battle of Alamein

    The Battle of Alamein which was also known as the Western Desert Campaign took place in Egypt and Lybia between 1-27 of July 1942. This battle was between the Germans and the Italians vs The Allied Forces. The Allied Forces tried stopping the Germans from taking control of North Africa.
  • Australia recaptures Kokota

    On July the 21st and 22nd The Japanese forces advanced into and took control of Kokota. Australians made several attempts in the following months to regain control of that territory. Finally on November the 2nd the Australians with the helo of the Americans took back kokota.
  • Bombing of Japan

    In the early Mornig of 6th of July The allied forces decided to drop a nuclear bomb on the Japanese after they refused to surrender. They also dropped a second nuclear bomb on Japan 3 days later on the 9th, making sure Japan got the message.
  • Japan Surrenders

    On September the 2nd After the Japanese bombing, Japan was left devastated with almost 130,000 people dead and ahlf the cities destroied. The Japanese government decided to Surrender all their troops in World Waar 2 in fear of getting bombed again.
