New South Wales
Captain Cook has discovered NSW, and used it as a place for convicts. Captain Cook also called it "Terra Nullius", which means that the land belongs to no one. -
The First Fleet
When Captain Cook found Australia, that was when the First Fleet sets sail. When they arrived, they arrived at Botany Bay, but they didn't like it there, and they said it was not suitable for landing, so they decided to head to Port Jackson, which was where they decided to land. Thus, Australia Day was marked as the day when the First Fleet landed at Port Jackson. -
Van Diemen's Land as a Penal Colony
This was when it was a penal colony BEFORE it separated from NSW. -
Queensland's Penal Settlement
This was when John Oxley sailed to the north to establish a penal settlement in Moreton Bay. -

This was planned to be a colony. Swan River Colony was the previous name of Western Australia. -
Port Arthur
Port Arthur was established in Tasmania/Van Diemen's Land as a penal colony. It was also a destination that is based on convict labour, and is a prison of somesort for dangerous and serious convicts. -

Swan River Colony has been renamed, and changed to Western Australia. -

The centre of Victoria has been founded by John Batman after a 'rare' treaty with local Wurundjeri Elders. -
South Australia
South Australia was established 15 years after Victoria broke away from NSW. The colonists wanted it to be based on free people, and not convict labour, and to embody civil liberties. -
Adelaide
By the end of the year, Adelaide has become the centre of South Australia. -

New Zealand is SURPRISINGLY formally annexed to New South Wales! -

North Australia was proclaimed by Letters Patent on 17 February 1846, then all of a sudden, 1 year and 2 months later, it gets revoked and becomes part of NSW. -

In all of a sudden, NA (North Australia) surprisingly gets REVOKED and REINCORPORATED into NSW. -

The discovery at Bathurst added a further source of wealth to NSW. -

NSW was separated into 2 colonies. One was New South Wales, which everyone knows, and the other one was the new colony, Victoria. -
Tasmania
After a few, or many years, Van Diemen's Land has been changed to Tasmania on 1st of January, otherwise known as the day of Happy New Year and the beginning of the year 856. -
Queensland proclaimed by Letters Patent
Letters Patent, the one which proclaimed North Australia, has finally proclaimed a new colony called Queensland. -
NSW and Queensland Separate
NSW separates from Queensland into 2 for Queensland to become it's own colony. It was a proclamation that was read by George Bowen. -
Queensland
Finally, official settlement began on the same year when Letters Patent proclaimed Queensland, but this was in December, 15 days before Christmas Eve. -
South Australia's Border Change!
South Australia's border has unexpectedly changed into a larger size! It has unexpectedly changed from 132° E to 129° E, which extended the border covering up some parts of NSW! It's now covering up all the remaining space in the South! Now the North is remaining. -

2 years later after South Australia's border extending/change, Queensland was the next colony to be changed! It has extended and moved to 139° E! This is the last border change, don't worry. -

Northern Territory says goodbye to South Australia, then it becomes its own colony under Commonwealth control in 1st January. -

The beginning of the year 1911 had big news. The Federal Capital Territory, in short, the FCT, has been created with New South Wales. In the beginning of the year means 1st of January. -

In 1927's first day in March, the NT (Northern Territory) was split into two. One was called North Australia, which was once placed in the area where Queensland was, and Central Australia, which is above South Australia and below North Australia! -

North Australia, which was previously placed in the area Queensland is in, has been born again along with Central Australia. It was born when NT was split. It had a short life, which was pretty much a 4 year life, till it reunited to NT once again. -
The Revival of Northern Territory!
Remember Central Australia and North Australia? Well, after 4 years, 3 months, and 11 days, to be exact, they were reunited into one whole colony, which was once again called Northern Territory, and still IS Northern Territory. -
ACT (Australian Capital Territory)
27 years, 6 months, and 28 days later, The place which was called Federal Capital Territory for 27 years has been renamed to Australian Capital Territory, and it is the current/present name. -
Coco (Keeling) Islands from Singapore!
The island called Cocos (Keeling) Islands, which was originally from Singapore, was transferred to Australia in all of a sudden!
