Sugar Act
During the Sugar Act, the tax for sugar was 6 pence but then changed to 3 pence per gallon in order to have the colonists to buy from the British instead of the French. -

During the French and Indian War, the French and Indians joined forces against the British and Americans. They fought for land. -
Proclamation of 1763
During the Proclamation of 1763 the British passed a law where the Indians can have all the land west of the Appalachian Mountains. -
Quartering Act
During the Quartering Act, the British passed a law saying that the British can go into colonists houses and live with them and the colonists weren’t very happy. -
Stamp Act
During the Stamp Act, the British passed a law where all the papers the colonists bought must be taxed and have to have a stamp placed on them. -
Townshend Act
During the Townshend acts the British taxed all the important stuff such as cotton,wool,wood, except for tea. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a huge event first the colonist were throwing things but then someone shot from the British side and the colonists had a reason to fight them. 5 died in that event -
Committees of Correspondence
Samuel Adams created group called the Committees of Correspondence. The group he formed spread around important news and told them what was happening. -
Tea Act
The British decided that only one company would sell the tea to the colonists. This company would sell the tea so cheap, other places couldn’t compete. -
Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty dressed up as Indians and dumped the tea form a incoming ship (that was carrying lots of tea) onto the harbor. -
First Continental Congress
Representatives from the colonies got together and wrote a letter to the king claiming they wanted to be treated fairly. The king didn’t listen to them and they prepared for war.
