Henry demanded real service from nobles. Based on loyalty not blood. John De Vere was given a prestigious title due to is loyalty to Henry even before exile. -

Parliament calls
Only called parliament 7 times throughout his 24 span reign. Didn't need parliament for war taxes, due to avoiding expensive campaigns. Found other ways of filling his treasury. Legislation was not needed on a national scale. -

Clerics
John Morton was the most respected cleric and soon became chancellor in 1487. Richard Fox became Kings principle. Cleric was the largest social group. -

Regional governments
Local areas were protected and governed by nobles and members of Henry's government. For example London was protected by The king and lesser men while West Midlands was under control by Earl of Shrewsbury. -

French pension
Henry negotiated a deal with France that gave Henry £159,000 to not enter and attack French soil. -

Council learned in law
Defended kings position as a feudal land owner. Kept marriage, warship and relief of kings tenants. Without a jury. Bond and recognisance were not approved by Edmond Dudley. -
1505
Bonds and recognisance
In the first decade, Henry and his kingship collected 191 bonds and this rose to over 200 near the end of his reign. £35,000 was collected by 1505.
