Les Méthodes nouvelles de la mécanique céleste
This work by Poincare is what lead him to be so closely related to Chaos Theory and what we now call in this day and age 'manifolds'. Manifolds are just "a generalization and abstraction of the notion of a curved surface" (Britannica). It is a confusing subject to get into, but is essentially what led to Henri Poincare's huge contribution to Algebraic Topology. -
Analysis itus
This work by Poincare was published in 1895 and is on the idea of topology. Topology is "the study of properties which are left unchanged by 'continuous deformation' (MacTutor). He is often considered to Father of Algebraic Topology and "1901, he claimed that his researches in many different areas such as differential equations and multiple integrals had all led him to topology" (MacTutor). Science and Hypothesis
In 1902 Henri wrote a book called Science and Hypothesis. In it he explains the 'sequence' in which science goes and how there is this hierarchy. It is that "Poincaré treats topics in a serial order—first arithmetic, then geometry, then physics" (Heinzmann). It also states in this book how math needs to be "in place before we can do any empirical science" (Heinzmann). Works cited (Science and Hypothesis)

The Poincare Conjecture (With Youtube video)
The Poincare Conjecture is probable what Henri is most well known for. Attached is a link to a Youtube video that explains what the Poincare Conjecture was. It was essentially a hypothetical way of proving whether or not we live inside of a sphere or a more inner tube type shape. It is an explanation of the shape of the universe. Henri Poincare came up with this idea was made in 1904. Since then it has however been proven correctly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPuOt0JUZBY -

Henri Poincare died on July 17, 1912 in Paris. He was 58 years old when he died. Gray, Jeremy. "Henri Poincare". Britannica, July 20 1998. https://www.britannica.com/biography/Henri-Poincare/additional-info#history. Accessed 26 Dec, 2020.
