Heavy rains
While they were traveling up the mountain there was very heavy rain and they had to carry all of there equipment so it wouldnt get ruined. -
Traveling
Henry and his army marched to the top of Alleghany mountain to get there it wasnt that great sometimes they had to sleep on the ground and traveling conditions wernt the best. it was a great challenge. -
Allegheny Mountain
they reached the top of alleghany mountain on the second, the had beem there a couple days and this morning october 4th, they heard cannons so they immediately got into a line of battle. they stayed there until 12 and then they were told to march down the mountain 4 miles so when they did they had to stay until the heard a cannon but they didnt hear a thing so they marched back to the top. There was a hard battle at the river they lost 4 and a total of 21 wounded. -
Snow in Pacohontas
it has been snowing and raining so they had to move back into there cabin -

he thinks they are going to have to go to Winchester and they have to be prepared for a fight that might come soon, also he is trying to get religion -

leaving Alleghany
Henry and the redt left Alleghany and went to Monterey and then went to Mcdowell. After that they went a half of a mile of roodgeres. That is on Shenandoah mountain. it was very cold and snowy there. They all stayed bundled up to try to stay warm. -
battle in stasbourg
They notice that the yankees have been following us for w while, They were between Henry and Harrisonburg. There was a little fight in strasbourg. Henrys group took 52 of there men prisoner. -
Hard battle
General Jackson had one of his hardest battles ever. He had lost one of his arms, and they didnt think he was going to survive. -
Sick
he was having bad pains in his back and neck and his legs and arms wernt cooperating right so they took him in and gave him medicine. -
General Hill
The yanlkees crossed the river at the same place they had crossed it before, but General Hill was there with his corps, Hill has been given 5000 new troops, but they have not yet been in a fight, but we excpect to get in to it at any time. -
General Milory
Henry and his division marched down below winchester opposite of the Yankees fortifications and just layed there, and then they opened 14 peices of artillery on them in their fortifications. Henry thinlks that they have got General Milory. If they do that is very good becasue he treated there people poorly. -
