The number of refugees that can be successfully integrated to our town
I live in Kozani , a town which is located in west Macedonia. It is not too big but it has enough space if it is necessary to give a place to stay to those who are in need.So, the number of refugees that can be successfully integrated to our town is around to 1.500-2000 which I think in order to ours town population is a good amount of people. -
Accommodation
Right after the refugees arive in our town we will offer them a place to stay in.For example , they can live in vacants which are located a little outside the city and abandoned houses inside the city. Also we can offer them apartments with financial support.
Moreover they can stay in accommodation centres or camps for asylum seekers which can provide them with basic medical care , temorary accommodation ,food ,drinking water and access to sanitary facilities. -
The kind of entrepreneurship that can be developed
By the time , the refugees have settled in our town we need to provide them with employment opportunities.Women can be employed in house cleanin, as waitresses at the local restaurants or at the local women's cooperative.Men can be employed in farming, the mainstay of the area's economy or as craftsmen at local businesses.Providing and facilitating access to employment opportunities help refugees re-establish an independent,productive life with an adequate standard of living. -
The ways schools can help
The schools in our town want to help refugees and make them feel happy that they come here. So, schools can donate old clothes, blankets ,old toys and food.Provide refugee children with lessons in Greek.Help them communicate with shop owners when they visit the local shops.Furthermore we can invite refugee children to join us in games and sports and encourage other to accept them as friends.Last we can organize a ball, or any other fund-raising event to spend a good time and bond with them. -
The potential benefits for local community
The refugees upcoming in our town wil benefit our local community.This is because refugees will boost the local economy by spending money in local businesses. In addition, refugees will provide the manpower by working at the local businesses.Accept of the economy, the number of refugees will also help the local community. Because some schools with few students will increase their student population and some businesses who are in need they hire some more employes.
