Dost Mohammad Khan, Abdur's father, dies the day before and unconventionally names his third son, Abdur, to be his successor.
-This causes a stir, and Khan has to fight to put down rebellions by both of his brothers, but eventually conquers their armies and then begins to conquer modern Afghanistan -
Hazara Declaration of War
Because of the poor treatment of Hazaras, and the big change from autonomy to oppression, tribal Hazara leaders united to declare war against Rahman
-War became very ethnically and religiously charged.
-Hazaras were brutally put down, making their situtation afterwards even worse.
-After this, Abdur Rahman Khan used Hazara people as a lesson to Turkmen, Taijik, and other ethnic groups by brutally oppressing them. -
