Magna Carta
The Magna Carta is a document that gave the people some political decisions. Also, says royals can share power with the nobilities of England. -
Petition of Right
A document that gave the people rights. Such as, not being forced to pay taxes if a freeman if not in an act of parliment. -
English Bill of Rights
A list of thing that seperates power between people. It limits the power of the king and queen. -
Albany Plan of Union
A plan to place the British North American colonies under a more centralized government. The Albany Plan of Union was the first plan that put the colonies under one government. -
Boston Massacre
A fight on the street between Britain soldiers and a mob that was throwing things. Colonists were killed but this was what happened in order to have the speech-writers. -
Boston Tea Party
Americans dressed as native americans and threw cargo off of tea ships. This was done to protest King George III. -
First Continental Congress
The first meeting between 12 of the 13 colonies discussing many topics. Such as; the future presidents, the Declaration of Rights, and King George III petition to repeal the Intolerable Acts. -
Second Continental Congress
A meeting between all the colonies. They discussed war efforts. -
Declaration of Independence
A document made by Thomas Jefferson. It gave individuals ideas for liberty. -
Articles of Confederation
This was the first constition written in the US. It was written after the 13 colonies became one. It was a document stating how the 13 colonies/states should act as one. -
Shay's Rebellion
This was the first armed uprise of the new nation. This involved farmers that were upset becasue they could not pay the taxes and debt at the time. -
Philadelphia Convention

The New Jersey Plan is a response to the Virginia Plan.
