    French Revolution

    The French Revolution began because of monarchy was in crisis. As of the 18th century, France's costly involvement in the American Revolution and extragant spending by King Louis XYI (1754-1793) and his predecessor had left the country on the brink bankruptcy. IN the 1st and 2nd estate was a terrible with taxes and owned land. The 3rd estate was a little better but a lot of violence until all of it was over.

    The members of the French Estates-General in the 3rd Estate, who had begun to call themselves the National Assembly, took the Tennis Court Oath. In this place you can see some cool things. They wanted to set up a new ("real") government.

    The reign of terror was a violent thing. They had a machine called a guillotine and it cuts peoples heads off. They call it the because of all the blood and violence that happens. There were a lot of deaths and there were 2,639 people dead. The guillotine had a pointed blade and it was really sharp. They killed the King and Queen on the guillotine.

The objective of the Congress was to provide a long-term peace plan for Europe by settling critical issues arising from the French Revolutionary Wars and the Napoleonic Wars. Making peace was the balance of power (surround France with strong countries). Stop nationalism and put monarchs back on the throne.

He was a French statesman and military leader who rose to prominence during the French Revolution and led several successful campaigns. He won most of these wars and the vast majority of his battles.
