Haqqani Network formed

It is called the Haqqani Network because it is made up of a "Network" of militants loyal to Jalaluddin Haqqani and his sons, Sirrajuddin and Badruddin The Haqqani Network is also allegedly linked to the Pakistani Intelligence Service. -

Following the Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, Jalaluddin served as minister of justice in the mujahideen government. The Haqqani Network worked the CIA to help remove Soviet troops from Afghanistan as well. -
