There were half of a million peole who rushed. 81 million dollars worth of gold and silver were found a year. The boom towns that were brought up because of the rush were Sacramento, San Fransico, Mariposa, Greenhorn Creek, and Gold Hill in Grass Valley. Two lasting effects were that California obtained a higher status in the US. Also, California got started with their economy because of it. -
Comstock Lode Silver Rush
17,000 people rushed. 500 million dollars of silver was discovered. A boom town was Viginia City. The west became very popular. -
Aspen Silver Rush
Over 3,000 people rushed. 80,000 dollars worht of silver. Aspen was a boomtown. Population growth was effected. -
Alaskan Gold Rush
Thousands of people rushed. 12 1/2 million ounces of gold was discovered. Sitka, Juneau,and Windham Bay were boomtowns. It gave many cities an oppurtunity to develop. -
