The Feeling of War

Around New Years, there was a new scary feeling of War. Adolf and the Nazis had gained power in Germany. Everyone knew about Hitler's greed and were preparing for the war. Though the Brady family decided to ignore the threat and enjoy the the coming of 1939. -
The Nazis Arrive (Pg. 22-23)

The Nazis march into Nove Mesto with new cruel Anti-Jewish rules. Hana and George's first glimpse of these unfair rules was when they had gone out to see the movie "Snow White and the 7 Dwarfs" at the theatre. Unfortunatly, they were both sent back becuase Jews were not allowed to watch movies anymore. Sadly, every week there would be a new restriction. Soon the Jews were treated even worse. -
Hana and George were no longer aloud to go to school.

Soon, the Jewish restrictions became so strict that the Jewish kids were not allowed to go to school. Fortunatly, the Brady family had enough money to get a personal tutor for both of them. -
Hana's Mother is arrested.(Pg. 31-32)

Hana's Mother is arrested by Gestapo, a secret Nazi police organization. Hana and George couldn't belive that their mother had to leave them, nor did they understand. Their father tried hard to console them. The children tried hard to get over it, but they were sometimes reminded of this extremly tragic moment. -

Yet agian something tragic happens to the Brady family, and this time their dad is arrested. He was arrested by the Gestapo, because the Nazis had made Nove Mesto an Anti-Jewish town. -
Hana and George are taken to the concentration camps (Pg. 50-51)

After hiding in their Uncle's house, Hana and George were ordered to be deported. It was the letter that was feared by everyone and now it was here. Now, George and Hana had to leave to one of the worlds most dangerous places. -
Hana and George are reunited! (Pg. 69)
Picture SourceHana and George are finally reunited after being seperated from each other in different buildings. They laughed, they cried, and they talked when they meet each other after such a long time. -
George has to depart from Theresienstadt (Pg. 93- 94)

All of a sudden the Nazis noticed they were losing the war, and as a result they sped up the trains to Theresienstadt. Sadly, George Brady was one of the men, who were sent on a train to the deadly Getto -
The concentration Camps are liberated
Picture Source At last the Nazis had surrendered and lost the war. As a result, the concentration camps were liberated. -
He has survived and now he is back! (Pg. 92-93)
Picture SourceGeorge Brady manages to survive the Holocaust. He came out weak and thin, but he was alive. Without taking a moments rest, George starts his journey back to the home he loves. After a long journey, George manages to make it back!
