After the flood, Hancher faculty moved to the east side of campus in Seashore Hall. They immediately got back to work so they could provide a new season of arts for the UI community.
-
The flood caused Hancher to now look for different venues around Iowa City to host their events. Well-known venues like The Englert Theater, The Mill, and Riverside Theater have helped to provide Hancher with performance spaces.
-
Hubbard Street Dance Chicago helped the Iowa City community say good-bye to the auditorium as their first event of the season. It was Hancher's effort to help the community remember their favorite moments of Hancher's history.

Hancher 2011-2012 season has been one of the most successful for not only community involvement, but also for the performers involved. In the beginning of December, Hancher hosted a sold-out show at The Mill for performer Catherine Russell.

Even after a little over three years, Hancher auditorium still remains damaged from the flood. The once lively buidling is now vacant with nothing but empty chairs and tables in sight.
-
At the start of every school year, Hancher faculty is busy planning events in music, theater, and dance for the upcoming season. They want community members to realize that they are still a thriving performing arts organization despite the effects of their damaged building.
-
This season, Hancher will celebrate it's 40th Anniversary season. The organization has come a long way since it's creation in 1972, but it is continuing to bring exotic performers like dance company Lucky Plush, to Iowa City.

Plans to rebuild the auditorium from the damages of the flood are already underway. The new building is hoped to be up and running by late 2015.
