House of Burgesses
The house of burgesses metting was to creat new laws. The Jamestown colonists held the first house of burgesses metting. The colonies established representative governments. -
Mayflower Compact
Pilgrims drew up the Mayflower Compact. The Compact saicl there lolyity to England. It also said there intention of forming "a civil body politic." the peoplpe who singed it also promises to obey the laws passed. -
Massachusetts Bay Company
A group of puritans formed the Massachusetts Bay Company. they received a royal charter to establish a colony. This was the puriyans chance to creat a new spciety in America. -
John Withrop
John Withrop was chosen to be the colonys governor. A year later he led 900 peope men, woman, and children to Massachusetts Bay. Alot of them settled in Boston. -
General court
Settlers demanded a larger role or part in the goverment. the General ourt became an elected assembly. Adult male church members were alowed to voted. -
1636 war broke out
In 11636 war broke out. 2 traders got killed in pequot land. Massachusetts sent troops to punish the pequot. Then a Pequot attacked then killed 9 people in connecticut. Then a year latter Connecticut burned a Pequot village killing hundreds of people. -

Williams got a charter for a colony east of Connecticut. It is called Rhode Island plus Providence Plantions. Rhode Island is a safe place for dissenters. -

To prevent fighting Britain called a stop to the settlers wetward expanshion. Proclamation of 1763 set the Appalachian mountanis as the temporary western boundary for the colonies. The speculators bough land west of the mountains. The Britain ignored the land claims. -
Pontiac's War
In the spring Puntiac gathered forces and capured the British fort at Detroit. They captured other British outpost to. During the summer Native Americans killed settlers along the Pennsylvania and Virginia frontires during the Pontiac's War.
