Missori Compromise
Maine becomes a free state and missori becomes a slave state. The louisiana purchas splite the nourth being a free states and south being a slave states on 36 30. This caused more division i the country which helped lead to the civil war. -
Compromise of 1850
It was a compromise bettween 4 states. There was a law passed called the fugitive slave law and made any citizen have to turn in any slave who has ecaped from there owners. California became a free state. washington D.C. band slave trade. -

This lead to the war because it stured people up again about slavery. It affected the south by changing some of theier views on slaves and shows how they are affecting the slaves lives. Brooks hit Sumner upside the head and broke the cane. This raised all the stress by the congress adding to all the debates. Sumner couldnt escape because he was stuck under a desk. -

He belived that he was sent from god to punish those who had slaves. He was with 7 of hid people and killed 5 inocent proslavist . He split all there heads with a sword. -

He was a black man that was a slave and moved to a free state and was free and went back to a slave state and sued the federal court for making him a slave again. the questions were, was he a citizen sece he was a black man, had his residence were he lived rule in he was free or not. and they were both ruled that he wasnt. -
John Browns Raid on Harpers Ferry
John Brown lead 22 men to capture federal arsenal in harpers ferry Virginia. He belived that slaves would see and go on riot with him. He was then captured and sentenced to be hanged and was turned into a martyr. -
Election of 1860
The candidates were lincoln, Douglas, Bell, and breckenridge. Douglas was nominated for president in 1860 along with all the oters. this led to the war by adding to all the stress of all people. -

There were 4 different debates that was going on. The main was the Fugitive slave act. it also raised all the anger of all the people. -
Fort Sumter
Stood at the entrance of south carolina. It was te begining of the war and was the first battle known. Lincoln tried to send the fort suplies like food and guns but Davis whent and atacked the fort.
