A new athenian leader named Cleisthenes introduced further reforms. He broke up the power of the mobility by organized citizens into ten groups based on where they lived, rather than on their wealth. -

(Sparta) Powerful Army
THey had the most powerful army probably on the mplanet at this time and it lasted for a couple hundred years. This came a t a price though. The men had pretty much no freedom until they were 60. They did not focus on any studies and fcused strictly on warfare and discpline. -

Draco is developed. Draco is a legal code based on the idea that all Athenians who were rich or poor were equally judged under the law. -

(Sparta) The conquering of Messenia
Spartans conquered the neighboring region of Messenia and took over the land. They used the Messenians to be helots. Helots are people forced to stay on the land and work. -
(Athens) Solon
New more far fetching democratic reforms were introduced by solon who came to power during this time. -
(Sparta) The Persians
They battled this group for a couple of weeks and held off there army with only 300 but there lines were soon penetrated and Sparta feel.
