    Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer, He reached the new world with Spanish people. He established the Columbian exchange which brought disease and changes the life of the Indians in the New World. His expedition opened ways to the new world for many Europeans.

    video Born in 1460 in León, Spain, Juan Ponce served as a page in the royal court of Aragon. In search of this “fountain of youth,” as well as more lands and gold, he set sail from Puerto Rico in March 1513. The following month, the expedition landed on the coast of what is now Florida, near the site of modern-day St. Augustine. He established one of the first European seetlement in Florida.

He was chosen to lead the expedition to India in 1497. He was a hero by securing the trade route with India Muslim traders. More important for his home country, he established the first Portuguese trading post in India.

    Hernán Cortés, was born around 1485 in Medellín, Spain. On ebruary 1519, his expedition reached the Mexican coast. When in Mexico, Cortés became allies with some of the native peoples he encountered, but with others he used deadly force to conquer Mexico. He later conquered the Aztec Empire He marched to Tenochtitlán, the Aztec capital and home to ruler Montezuma II. Cortés took Montezuma hostage and his soldiers raided the city. In 1540, Cortés retired to Spain. Cortés died in Spain in 1547.

    He was a Portuguese explorer.
    Magellan set sail for the Spice Islands on September 20, 1519. There were five ships and 265 men under his command. During his voyage, he went through a lot of places that were unknown at that time such as the coast of Brazil, Port san Julian, Pacific Ocean and Philippines.
    His voyage had proved that you could sail all the way around the world.

    most evil man (2)Most evil manFracisco Pizzaro is a Spanish explorer. In 1513, Pizarro joined conquistador Vasco Núñez de Balboa in his march to the "South Sea". He discovered what is now known as the Pacific Ocean, although Balboa allegedly spied it first, and was therefore credited with the ocean's first European discovery. In 1532, accompanied by his brothers, Pizarro overthrew the Inca leader Atahualpa and conquered Peru. Three years later, he founded the new capital city of Lima. Francisco Pizarro was assassinated

    Hernando de Soto was a Spanish explorer and conquistador who participated in the conquests of Central America and Peru and discovered the Mississippi River.
    On April 6, 1538, de Soto and his fleet departed Sanlúcar to explore America. During his exploring, he stopped in Cuba and helpied the city of Havana recover after the French sacked and burned it, also De Soto's voyage would, in fact, mark the first time that a European team of explorers had traveled via the Mississippi River.

    Video French navigator Jacques Cartier was born on December 31, 1491, in Saint-Malo, Brittany, France, and was sent by King Francis I to the New World, a voyage that would add him to the list of famous explorers. Cartier was to search for gold and other riches, spices, and a passage to Asia. Cartier sailed on April 20, 1534, with two ships and 61 men, and arrived 20 days later. He explored the west coast of Newfoundland, discovered Prince Edward Island.

    He was an English sea captain and was also the first to complete the voyage as captain while leading the expedition throughout the entire circumnavigation.
    He sailed from Plymouth on Dec. 13, 1577. The squadron consisted of five vessels, the two larger ships being the Pelican and Drake's own ship. He took three years to circumnavigate the earth and, in 1580, back to Plymouth. In the UK there are various places named after him, especially in Plymouth, Devon, where various places carry his name.

    Historians believe Walter Raleigh was born in 1552, or possibly 1554, and grew up in Devon. At the age of 17, Walter Raleigh left England for France to fight with the Huguenots (French Protestants) in the Wars of Religion. He discovered Guiana and establishing the Virginia colony of Ronoake Island in 1584.

September 3, 1609, explorer Henry Hudson and his crew aboard the Half Moon. Hudson was not the first European explorer to discover this river. The Florentine navigator Giovanni da Verrazano discovered the Hudson in 1524. But Henry Hudson traveled the river much farther than its previous explorer. By his achievement, the river was named after his name.
