    World war one took place on European soil, and with all the new advances in war material, the land was devastated, homes, towns, cities were completely wiped out. The Governments in Europe had spent virtually all their money on war time things, and paying debts so generally, no one had any money for anything. 70% of the world was in mas devastation.

    The roaring 20s. the US economy was good, World War 1 just ended, the war wasn't on american soil so the stock market was still booming. their were many social changes; women were granted my rights (vote + jobs). Jazz music was create. And who cares about the Lost generation.

    The American perspective changed dramatically during these years, the hope in the country greatly changed in America from great to really bad.
  • Banks Crash

    Many banks around america were forced to close because their was no money anymore. Because of this many people were forced to lose their life savings, loans etc.

    Where did the money go

    Since all the banks closed virtually everywhere, people had no money to spend, and when people dont spend, no money goes into the government which in tern makes things worse.

    stock market crashed, the beginning of the end.

    just to make things worse lats have a drought so that no one has any food.

    The New Deal

    the new deal was passed, and started taking place around this time. The deal was to get the people/America out of the Depression. About 1/4 of the american work force was unemployed, today its 4.5%.

    The New Deal had many Federal programs in it, which included -- banking reform laws, emergency relief programs, work relief programs, and agriculture programs
