My First Year at Graves Middle School
When I arrived at Graves Middle School, we only had twenty computers in the library. But we had one teacher computer and LCDs/Doc Cams in all of the classrooms and no kids used devices in school. -
Stage 2: One Full Library Lab and One iPad cart
We made some progress, we added a full lab in the library and a full iPad cart for teachers to check out. Some teachers were using strong instructional technology strategies and no kids used devices in school. -
Current Technology
We now have four computer labs, an iPad cart, two classroom sets of iPads, and two classes of kids with a 1-1/BYOD program. We have our math textbooks in digital and workbook format. We have two teachers really leading the way with educational apps and many of our teachers are getting more comfortable with technology. -
Staff Professional Development
We have to increase the number of teachers who feel comfortable with instructional technology, iPads and educational apps, and we want to put more iPads in the hands of the teachers, -
Graves in June 2018
We want to have three quarters of our staff and most of our students using instructional technology effectively and we want to have half of our students using 1-1/BYOD at Graves. -
Goal for June 2020
We would like to have all students on a 1-1/BYOD device, all textbooks will be electronic, and all staff are proficient with instructional technology.
