Grandpa's parents drove him to the Graham school. It was his first time going to school. Grandpa's school was a one-room country school. After the first day of his parents driving him to school, he had to walk one mile every day, except during winter. He took his lunch karo in a syrup pail. -

Pearl Harbor
Grandpa was in study hall. The principal came into the study hall and announced and said that the President was going to come in and declare war. The principal wanted the students to hear the President commit war on Japan for attacking Pearl Harbor. The president was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. -
Driver's Lisense
Grandpa's dad drove him to Friendship, WI. They talked to Sheriff Stone and they all got in the car. Grandpa was suppose to drive, while Grandpa's dad and Sheriff Stone rode in the back seat. They drove around the block by the courthouse. Then Grandpa's dad and Sheriff Stone talked for a while. Sheriff Stone said, "You passed the test." and that he'd recieve a license in the mail. -

Grandpa Gets Drafted
In December of 1950, Grandpa recieved a letter from the U.S. government stating that Grandpa had been chosen by his friends and neighbors to serve in the armed forces of the United States. Grandpa recieved a train ticket from Adams, WI to Milwaukee. The desitination was Camp Gordon in Georgia. -
Discharged From The Army
After serving his tour of duty in Japan, he was shipped home via Hawaii to Camp Carson in Colorado. He was discharged in Camp Carson and they gave him a plane ticket to go to Chicago. They gave him another ticket on the train to Wisconsin Dells, WI. Grandpa was picked up by his father, who was happy to see him. -
25th Birthday
Grandpa celebrated his 25th birthday on this day. -

Hired to Grayhound Bus Company
A year later, Grandpa started working at Greyhound. Grandpa worked there for 32 years. -
Wedding Bells
While Grandpa was working for Greyhound, he worked at various places. He met Grandma while working at Bismarck, ND.They got married on September 13th, 1959. Grandma and Grandpa celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on September 13th, 2014. -

Uncle Geoff was born on June 30th, 1960. And my dad ws born on May 20th, 1963. -
John Fitzergerald Kennedy Assassinated
John F. Kennedy Assassintation While riding in the presidential limosuine in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, TX, three shots ran out, all being shot at JFK. At 1:00 CST, he was pronounced dead. It was offically announced at 1:30 CST. -
Homeowner
Grandma and Grandpa lived in a mobile home until 1964 when they had a home built. They have lived in the same home until May of 2015. They moved to a senior apartment after they moved out of their house. -

Grandpa continues to live on to this day. He will be celebrating his 88th birthday next year on March 9th, 2015.
