Competition between crews
Crews began to compete on who could put their mark on most places in the city. It became common to write your name all over the city, so graffiti took a turn and became quality over quantity. -
The buff
The buff is a major effort to clean the city of graffiti. The buff had made it harder to find a location to write and the laws against graffiti became tougher.
