King John was forced to sign this document because it will limit the power he was giving. The Magna Carta also allowed the formation of the powerful parliment. -

The petiton of rights was basicly saying that the king could not imprison people with a reason and he didnt have all the power to just do what he wanted . and also the election for parliments had something to do with the cause -
English Bill of RIghts
The English Bill of Rights contains the rights of a U.S citizen.without it being against the law or taking someone elses rights away. -
Stamp Act
The stamp act was to have better control over the colonies 55 bills that should be followed by the coliones to have better control over everything. -
Townshed duties
The townshed duties was to get a fair price for everything the people needed in the colonies and to stopped paying more for what they needed and also the price they had to pay on plantation property. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a street fight that happened on March 5, 1770 between the Partiots and British soliders. This happened because Boston didnt want the British in their city. -
Tea Act
The act was designed for the tea to be shipped to the colonies and be sold for a bargin price so that the colonies wouldnt keep getting ripped off for a bunch of unsold tea. -
1st continental congress
The First Continental Congress was a meeting of thirteen North American delegates on September 5, 1774 at the Carpenter’s Hall in Philadelphia.They agreed to boycott British goods and passed resolutions about the colonial rights. They also said they would meet again in May 1775, if the British did not change their ways. -
2nd Continental Congress
The meeting started with the battle of Lexington and Concord.The New England militia was outside of Boston trying to push the British out of Boston. Made the militia the army to represtent the 13 colonies. Gerorge Washington was commander in cheif of the army. -
Common Sense
COmmon Sense was written by Thomas Paine. It challenged the power of British Government. It focused blame for the problems of the colonies directly on the reigning British monarch, George III. -
Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson.Its the day we got our independence. The Declaration of Independence gives the states the power to levy war, make peace, make alliances with foreign nations, conduct trade, and to do anything else that independent states have the right to do.
