Religious freedom is restored in China after being outlawed between 1966 and 1977. However there are still numerous restrictions and the Chinese government only recognizes 5 religions - Buddhism, Daoism, Islam, Catholicism, and Protestantism. -

Freedom of press is expressed in more ways than ever known in chinese history after article 35 in of China's constitution states that “Citizens of the People’s Republic of China enjoy freedom of speech, of the press, of assembly, of association, of procession and of demonstration.” -
