John White finds the Lost Colony
When John returned to Roanoke in 1590, he found that all of the Indigenous people had disappeared! The only remain was a carving in a tree that said "CROATOAN."
It was a name of another colony nearby, so to this day, no one knows what exactly happened to it; it has been given the nickname "The Lost Colony." -
