    In September of 1919 Hitler joined the party after attending a meeting as a spy for the army and then becoming the leader in 1921

    Hitler tried to overthrow the current government in 1924 however was caught. However upon his release the Nazi party gained lots of publicity and promised to make the Nazi party a legitimate party.
  • The great depression

    From 1929 to 1934 The great depression had a large impact on the German economy allowing the Nazis to win 230 seats in the elections the most amount of seats held by one party during the Weimar period
  • Concentration camps

    Earlier in 1933 Hitler Authorized the construction of Concentration camps, these camps where conceived to hold political prisoners who disagreed with the Nazi policies and ideas

    Hitler continued to gain support for himself and his party however President Hindenburg remained strong by refusing to appoint him "ridiculous Austrian corporal" however ON January 30th 1933 Hindenburg offed him chancellorship inviting him to form a government

    Hitlers power was limited when he was first was appointed chancellor however after a large fire burnt the Reichstag building in Berlin Hitler gained more power in a time of "crisis" allowing Hitler to create his own limits
  • The Enabling Act

    The Enabling Act allowed Hitler to govern without reference to the Reichstag allowing him to do wants he wants without any limitations
  • Hitler takes controll

    In 1934 President Hindenburg died giving Hitler control over the government and gave himself the title of Fuhrer
  • Anshluss

    By the mid 1930's Austria had its own Nazi group. Under pressure from Germany, Austria held a vote on their independence rigged by Germany. the next day Germany crossed the border into Austria
  • Czechoslovakia and Munich agreement

    The British prime minister Chamberlain held meeting with the fuhrer 3 times and he agreed to Hitler's demands allowing the German army access to Sudeten region and allowing them to take over
  • Rearmament

    Hitler reintroduce the draft and introduced his 4 year plan to prepare the nations military for war by the end of 1929 Germany's military boasted more than 900,000 solders, 8,000 aircraft and 95 warships
