Many accusations began circling after the Watergate Scandal which involved Nixon and his VP, Agnew. Agnew found it best he resign from being Vice Preisdent to avoid these controversies. -

President Nixon nominated for Gerald Ford to be the new vice president after Agnew resigned. 97% of congress voted yes for him to be vice president. -
Gerald Ford Becomes President, Nixon Resigns
President Nixon resigned from office due to all the backlash that occured from the Watergate Scandal. Due to the 25th Amendment, this meant that Gerald Ford, Nixon's new Vice President, would become President. -
Nixon PARDONED
After Nixon resigned from office, Gerald Ford was now in office. Ford decided to pardon Nixon rather than pursuing legal prosecution. He said that the entire case/trial was dragged out more than needed, and that if it continued, things would get worse. -
Ford Presidency Over
Ford served the rest of Nixon's term, and is no longer president. Ford lives till age 93. -
