Royal Charter granted for the Georgia colony
Parliament granted a royal charter for the Georgia colony to James Oglethorpe and the Trustees. This document allowed the colony to be settled and administered by the Trustees. -

First Colonists Arrive in Georgia at Yamacraw Bluff
The Ship Anne arrived at the site that would later become Savannah on Feb. 12, 1733. This was the first British settlement of the new Georgia colony.
