Lawrence Washington died
Lawrence Washington died of tuberculosis in Mount Vernon after visiting the island of Barbados in hopes of curing his disease. During this time, George Washington got smallpox and survived, thus immunizing him to one of the greatest killers in the American Revolutionary War. Lawrence left George Washington Mount Vernon.
