60% of marine species were wiped out. Life began to appear on land in small forms. -

Plants formed all over the land. By the end of this period the first see bearing plant appeared. -
Carboniferous (359.2-299 MYA)
Terrestrial life flourished during this time, Dominant land vertibrates would eventually evolve into reptiles, Coal beds were formed all around the world. -
Permian (299-251 MYA)
Diversity amongst the amniots in the mammals, turtles, lepidosaurs, an archosaurs. PANGEA. Lots of desert. -
Triassic (251-199 MYA)
First true mammals, Therapsis evolved during this period. Global climate was very hot and dry. Ended with a mass extinction of all dinosaurs. -
Jurassic (201.3-145 MYA)
Known as the age of reptiles in some eyes. Continental climate went from dry to humid, many deserts were replaced by lush rainforests. 2 different extinction events occured during this time. -
Cretaceous (65 MYA)
Populated with now extinct marine reptiles. Dinosaurs dominated on land. This period ended with a mass extinction of large marine reptiles. -

Ice Age! Growth and decay of continental ice sheets. Humans began existing. Glaciers turned Black Sea and Baltic Sea into fresh water.
