Day #1
Today is the first day of Genius Hour so, I made my essential question: How does cuisine change from Italy, France and India? I also made a time toast account and a Word Press account that I will be using daily through out the project. -
Day #2
The majority of this time was used to get my word press account started and start the setup I want for it. -
Day #3
Today I continued to edit the homepage and about page on my wordpress. -
Day #4
Today was meant for speeches but, I already finished mine so, I decided to continue on the setup of my website. -
Day #5
I decided that the website maker was too difficult for me to do so, I decided to research scrap booking and make a book type of thing that listed my recipes and explanations of the cuisine. I researched what supplies I should use and made a list so I could purchase them. -
Day #6
Today I researched facts & recipes about food from France. -
Day #7
Today I researched different french appetizers to add to a word document to save the recipes I am considering to add to my final product whether its a cookbook or something else. -
Day #8
I made sure all of my french research was correct and finished. I found myself adding more details to the research to make it complete. -
Day #9
I began my research on Italian food. -
Day #10
Today I continued my research on Italian food. Also, I made a cover for my magazine/book. I printed the cover and pages that I had on my research on French cuisine. -
Day #11
Today I finished the Italian food research and started the Indian cuisine research. -
Day #12
I continued my research on Indian food and today, I was completely done with the Indian food restaurant today. The next days of my project I will focus on my presentation. -
Extra Note:
Because I am completely done with all the research I need to complete my Quarter 3 Genius Hour project I will now type my information in a nice word document. I will print these papers and put them into sheet protectors and in a nice binder to complete my book. All that is left to do is type the papers in a nice way and print them and finally, put them in a nice book form. -
Day #13
Today I put the rest of my research into nice word documents so that I could print them at home in color and put it into a book form. Also, I made a list to remind myself to buy the ingredients to make at least one of the recipes and buy the binder that I need for the book. Lastly, I reminded myself to print the papers to put in the book. I decided that I will do a time lapse or iMovie of me cooking the recipe I choose. -
Day #14
Today I bought the ingredients I need to make Angel Hair Pasta and I decided to make an iMovie of the recipes and the ending result. -
Day #15
Last night I made The Angel Hair Pasta and recorded myself make it so, I started to edit the video and it will be completely edited by Thursday so I will be completing the video for the next few days. -
Challenges:
1.I do not have a phone so I had to use my laptop to record myself make the pasta.
2.I am not a master with editing skills so my video does not look professional what so ever.
3.It is a hassle bringing my laptop to school frequently because it is heavy but, it is the only place I am able to edit the video. -
Day #16
Today I continued to edit my video on iMovie using my laptop. I completed the video and will transfer it to my flash drive if I am able to find a way to do that. If not, I will bring my laptop for the presentation to display my project and the video. I researched how to transfer an iMovie -
Day #17
Today the video was completely finished and I started to practice my presentation. I realized/ noticed that for my presentation I will have to bring my laptop to school.
