Gen Z Timeline (DSchauer)

  • The At Home Desktop

This is when I started using my at home computer, I usually used it to play games on GirlsGoGames (iconic for my generation). Note that this wasn’t a laptop, this was a desktop computer. The old Windows thick monitor and its scary fan that made it sound like it had asthma.
  • The Time of Tablets

This is when I started playing on my mom’s Kindle and games like AngryBird, Solitaire, & Candy Crush were really popular. It was fun but i wish it had more games.
  • My First Brick- I mean phone

I got my first phone, not like a touch screen. I had a flip phone, it had a few games on there but you had to pay for them so all you got was the free trial. I felt a bit embarrassed having one, mostly because the popular girls had fancy IPhones. But it didn’t upset me too much because they broke their phones a lot and my solid brick of a phone could handle anything.
  • My First IPhone

I got my first touch screen phone, the IPhone 4 or 5. This was also when laptops were first being introduced into primary school learning and not using computer labs. They weren’t touch screen.
  • Touch Screen Laptops

This is when we finally got touch screen laptops for class, it was a lot easier to use them. And we didn’t have to bring in a mouse plug in anymore.
  • New Phone and IPad??

I got the new IPhone 13, pretty nice I usually can do assignments on the go if needed. And it has a crap ton of storage now. I also got my first IPad, which I use instead of a laptop because it is a lot more flexible on what you can do with it.
