  • The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass

The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass is a DS handheld instalment of the Legend of Zelda franchise. I spent a lot of time with this game when I was a kid, its charming aesthetic and focus on adventure were captivating for me. The easy difficulty and simplistic dungeon design made it easy for a child to engage with the content. As well as the size of the game allowing one to spend some time on completing it. Nintendo 2007, The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, video game, Nintendo DS, Nintendo
  • The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword

The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword is a Zelda game on the Wii. For any kid who spent most of their time with the handheld titles, Skyward Sword was a massive improvement over them. With more content, more scope and more ambition which was exciting at the time. Skyward Sword was a tougher and more complex title than Phantom Hourglass, an enjoyable experience when I was a kid. Nintendo 2011, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, video game, Wii, Nintendo
  • Pokemon X and Y

My major game on the 3DS and the one I sunk the most hours into as a child. I'd been a casual Pokemon fan prior and seeing the series leave its sprite-based style and embrace a 3d aesthetic was exciting at the time. The game was exciting with such features like "Pokémon-Amie" which was a special mode that allowed you to feed and pet your Pokemon. This made be emotionally invested in the game and my Pokémon team.. Game Freak, Pokemon X and Y, video game, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo
  • Dark Souls III

Dark Souls 3 is a game released by Fromsoft for multiple consoles. I personally view it as a natural progression from Legend of Zelda for me. The game itself is extremely fun with its brutal difficulty and rhythm-based combat. As well as the rpg mechanics offering a lot of player choice. The atmosphere the game offered being memorizing for me as well. FromSoftware 2016, Dark Souls III, video game, PlayStation 4, Xbox 1, Windows, Bandai Namco
  • Elden Ring

Elden Ring is a game developed by FromSoft and released on multiple platforms. Elden Ring is a fantastic game that puts huge emphasis on freedom and exploration - you can go wherever you want and handle any event in whatever way you please. The world is full of content and has the most creative world design from any mainstream open world game in my opinion. FromSoftware 2022, Elden Ring, video game, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S
  • Spark the Eletric Jester 3

Spark the Electric Jester 3 is a title developed by LakeFepard for Windows. It’s an extremely fun high speed platformer, with large levels that in my opinion could be classified as pseudo open world. The game has polished controls, with multiple ways to create and maintain speed – as well as a strong focus on parkour and in air control. Probably my favorite game ever.
