Mimi's Game History Timeline

  • Birth

  • Mario Kart Wii

    Mario Kart Wii
The Wii was the first and only console my family owned up until a year ago. I remember my brother, sister and I would fight over our two remotes and try to beat each other and the NPC's, who were all a hundred times better than us. It's a staple game I play with my siblings, and it's a very nostalgic one. Nintendo EAD 2008, Mario Kart Wii, video game, Wii, Nintendo
  • Minecraft

    Minecraft
Minecraft Pocket Edition was the first paid game I got. I remember loading up my first world on my iPod, and spawning in a spruce forest where I quickly tamed my first dog. I play Minecraft Java edition to this day, and love to build structures and terraform using different block gradients. Mojang Studios 2011, Minecraft, video game, Windows, Mojang Studios
  • Rockband

    Rockband
Rockband was the first game I completed by unlocking all of the songs with my sister and our friends. Two people were on drums, one on guitar, one on bass and one on the mic. We called ourselves 'The Dog Party' because we thought the auto generated name was funny. Every time that we played, we always made sure to start off with 'Beetlebum' by Blur. This game greatly influenced my music taste and love for the rock genre. Pi Studios 2008, Rockband, video game, Wii, MTV Games
  • Exploding Kittens

    Exploding Kittens
Exploding Kittens is a game that I was fixated on for a year, and holds significance due to it reminding me of my year 7 camp. I remember playing it with everyone I could find who was willing, and ended up beating every single person. It's such a simple game to engage with and I loved the concept of it, as well as the ease in which one could win through card hoarding. Lee E & Small S 2015, Exploding Kittens, card game, The Oatmeal
  • Quiddler

    Quiddler
For as long as I can remember, I have loved English and writing, so word games are some of my favourites to play. I used to take Quiddler to play at school, and have played it a lot with friends and family. It's a good game to play competitively or when working together, switching between shutting down words people make up and trying to find words for them within the same round. Cannei 2019, Quiddler, PlayMonster
  • Hollow Knight

    Hollow Knight
Hollow Knight is the first game that fully sparked my interest in gaming. I first saw it when I went to ACMI in Melbourne with my Dad, and ended up playing the game in there for about an hour. I fell in love with the art style and the overall feel for the game, so I ended up buying it, but have only recently began playing seriously. Team Cherry 2017, Hollow Knight, video game, Windows, Team Cherry
  • Side Effects

    Side Effects
Side Effects is one of my favourite card games to play. The art on the cards is really gorgeous, and I liked the premise of the game, the mental health focus of it sparking my interest. It's one of the only card games I've gotten after hearing about it, and it's something I will consistently play with those who are willing. Pillbox Games 2017, Side Effects, card game, Pillbox Games
  • Superliminal

    Superliminal
Superliminal holds significance to me because I got to play and complete it whilst with my longest online friend in the week I stayed with her. I'd only met up with her a few times previously, so spending a decent length of time with her meant the world, even when hanging out was simply doing our own thing whilst in the same space. Not only this, but I loved the way the game executed perspective as a puzzle. Pillow Castle Games 2019, Superliminal, video game, Windows, Pillow Castle Games
  • The Last Campfire

    The Last Campfire
The Last Campfire is the most recent game that I've completed, taking me about seven hours in one sitting. I really liked the puzzle aspects that accelerated the plot. It was easily digestible and fun to get through, and I look forwards to playing it again, to go back and do little things I missed the first time around, and seeing how much faster I can be in completing the game. Hello Games 2020, The Last Campfire, video game, Nintendo Switch, Hello Games
