Ivan The Terrible was succeeded as Czar of Russia. Ivan was the first Czar to be known as of "the terrible". He first took power in 1833. His successor was Fedor I. -

Galileo Galilei observes the Solar System
In 1610 Galileo discovered many things about the Solar System which he put into his book "Starry Messenger". He discovered the moon was not smooth like most people thought and that the Milky Way is made up of many stars. But, the most important discovery was that of Jupiter's largest moons. Galileo writes letters
After going to Rome to demonstrate his telescope and receiving positive feedback he decided to write about his ideas. He wrote three letters to formally take his position on the heliocentric theory. These letters caused three years of conflict between Rome and Galileo. -

Galileo Dies
Galileo died on his farm near the city of Florence. He was still on house arrest for 8 years before he died.
