    Less than fifty years after the European settlement there were few aboriginal people left in Sydney. The survivors existed by begging for food and clothes, doing occasional odd jobs and fishing. A proud and happy people had been robbed of their land and their traditional way of life was soon to disappear. Yet this was just the beginning fo Australia's Aboriginal people.
