    Congress of Vienna is when the leaders of Austria, Prussia, Great Britain and Russia met in Vienna to restructure Europe. Then In 1861, the unified Italy got its first king. The Franco-Prussian War brought all of the German states together.

Hitler had defeated several countries in a row in 1940 using a forceful method called blitzkrieg or lightning war. In 1942, the Allies won a great naval victory at Midway Island in the Pacific.

    After WWII, the Soviets took over the northern half of Korea while Americans occupied South Korea. On June 25, 1950, Communist troops crossed the border into South Korea. The United Nations sent soldiers to help South Korea and the Chinese and Soviet Union helped North Korea .

    In 1989, the people of east germany were given freedom to travel, so thousands of Germans rushed to the berlin wall and began to break it down. Over 70% of the republic was controlled by Serbian forces, led by Milosevic, who began cleansing. Bosnian Muslims were forced out of their homes and over 2 million were left homeless and 250,000 were killed before a treaty was signed.
