  • Louis XVI crowned King of France

    Lousi XVI was crowned King of France in 1774 after his grandfather died. He was accompanied by Marie Antoinette as Queen. He reigned from 1774 to 1791
  • Calling of the Estates General

    The Calling of Estates hasnt been called since the first meeting ever in 1614. The Estates had the clergy (First Estate), the nobles (Second Estate), and the common people (Third Estate). The Estates General is also called the States General.
  • Fomation of the National Assembly

    The NAtional Assembly was formed because the 3rd Estate felt like they did't have a saay in anything and they were being over-looked. They were locked out of the meeting room at Versailles. They also reformed France.
  • The Tennis Court Oath

    The Tennis Court Oath is a pledge that the National Assembly made to stay until the new constituiton was made. This was the second act of the French Revolution. It's named the "Tennis Court Oath" because the National Asembly broke into a tennis court on the grounds of Versailles.
  • Attack of the Bastille

    The Bastille was where France kept their weapons and a couple of prisoners. It represented the royalness in the center of Paris. The people stormed the Bastille because they were starving and tired of the King and Queen.
  • Great Fear

    The Great Fear was a panic st the start of the French Revoltuion. It lasted between July 17 and August 3. The panic began in Franche-Comte.
  • French womwn forced Louis XVI out of Versailles

    This is one of the most important events in the French Revolution. It all began with women at a nearby marketplace rioting over high prices and scacity of BREAD. This act is also known as "Women's March on Versailles"
  • Declaration of War Against Austria

    The Legislative Assembly declared war against Even though the armies weren't doing so good, they got better as the war went o.
  • The National Convention is formed

    It was a single-chamber assembly. It lasted from Sep. 20 to Nov. 2 beffore it was banded. The National Convention succeeded the Legistlative Assembly.
  • Louis XVI is executed

    Louis was convicted of having a bad plan with foreign powers. He was sentenced to death by the National Convention. He head was cut off by the famous "Guillotine."
  • Reign of Terror

    The Reign of terror was a time of violence betewwn the Jacobins and the Girondins. Maximilien Robespierre governed as a dictator at this time. His reign became know as the Reign of Terror.
  • The Thermidorian Reaction

    The Thermidorian Reaction was a revolt against the leadership of the Jacobin Club.It started because of a vote to execute Robespierre. It ended the most radical phase of the revolution.
  • The Directory is formed

    The Directory was the government during the last stage of the French Revolution. It lassted from 2 Nov. 1795 to 10 November 1799. This period is often calle the "Directory era."
  • Napolean takes power

    Napolean took power over the DIrectory.He rose to importance during the last stages of the French Revolution. He lead France in a series of wars called the "Napoleonic Wars."
  • Napoleon invades Russia

    Nappoleon's invasion was a fail. It all began when Napoleon's army crossed the Neman River in attempt to beat the Russian army. This is also known as the "Patriotic War of 1812."
  • Napoleon defeated at Waterloo

    Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon at Waterloo in Belgium. Napoleon had more troops but he waited til mid-day to attack so that gave the other troops time to join and fight against him. This brough an end to the Napoleonic era.
