He was placed under arrest by the National Assembly, and placed in prison in Paris. He broke out and fled which declared him an outlaw he tried to kill him self and shoot himself in the head but only succeeded to wound his jaw. He was later found and guillotined. -

This was when Napoleon overthrew the government, and took over. People often think of this as the end of the French Revolution.
